Dr. Devananda N S is the Head of Cardiothoracic Vascular Surgery and Heart & Lung Transplant Surgery at Manipal Hospitals. He holds an MBBS, MS (General Surgery), and M.Ch (Cardiothoracic Surgery) from renowned institutions. With over 10,000 successful open-heart surgeries to his name, Dr. Devananda has made significant contributions in complex procedures. He was the first in India to operate on a 29-week-old baby weighing just 900g and a 90-year-old patient. Additionally, he successfully transported a patient on ECMO for 450 km and removed a PNET tumor from the heart.

Dr. Devananda specializes in heart and lung transplants, aortic surgery, mitral valve reconstruction, coronary artery bypass, and complex congenital heart surgeries. He is a recipient of the Rotary Centenary Award for Vocational Excellence and a founding member of the World Society of Pediatric and Congenital Heart Surgery. Fluent in Kannada, English, and Hindi, he is an active member of various cardiovascular and thoracic surgery associations and has contributed to several high-profile surgeries and publications, demonstrating his expertise in addressing complex heart conditions.
