Dr. Ganesh K. Mani is the Chairman of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital and Max Super Speciality Hospital, Saket. A pioneer in cardiac surgery, he introduced Beating Heart Surgery in 2000 and has since performed over 8,000 Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts (CABGs) and more than 20,000 cardiac surgeries, including congenital, valvular, and coronary procedures. A recipient of the Padma Shri in 2013, Dr. Mani is deeply committed to community service, leading the Rotary ‘Gift of Life’ project, which provides free heart surgeries to underprivileged children with congenital heart disease. He has a special interest in advanced heart valve technology for longer-lasting solutions.
Dr. Mani earned his MBBS and MS from Maulana Azad Medical College and an M.Ch. in Cardiothoracic Surgery from Christian Medical College, Vellore. His global training includes stints at leading hospitals in Australia. Over his distinguished career, he has held leadership roles at prestigious institutions like Apollo Hospitals and Delhi Heart & Lung Institute. He is a Fellow of several esteemed medical organizations, including the American College of Surgeons and the Indian College of Cardiology. Recognized with multiple awards, including the National Excellence Award, Dr. Mani continues to excel in his field.
