Dr. Sumit Mrig

About the Doctor

Dr. Sumit Mrig serves as Associate Director & Head of ENT & Cochlear Implant Surgery at Max Smart Super Speciality Hospital, Saket, and Panchsheel Park. A graduate of UCMS and GTB Hospital, Delhi University (MBBS, 2002), he completed his MS in ENT from Maulana Azad Medical College in 2007, followed by a DNB in ENT in 2008. Recognized for his clinical excellence, Dr. Mrig has performed over 500 cochlear implant surgeries across pediatric and adult populations, including patients from eight countries. He was the first Indian surgeon to launch an independent cochlear implant program in Africa and performed India’s first binaural cochlear implant surgery in 2011. Additionally, he has mentored over 14 centers in cochlear implant programs across India.

Dr. Mrig specializes in the treatment of deafness using cochlear implants, BAHA implants, and bone bridge devices, as well as surgeries for snoring, sleep apnea, vertigo, and salivary gland stones. He is a recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Bharat Excellence Award and Max Healthcare’s CEO Award.
